Dear visitors, well wishers and citizens of Uganda, we welcome you to Our District Website. Dokolo District is a district in the Northern Region of Uganda. The Town of Dokolo is its main Town Council, administrative, and commercial centre.
Dokolo District was established by the Ugandan parliament in 2005. It became operational on 1 July 2006. Before that, Dokolo was a county in Lira District. It is part of the larger Lango sub-region. The district is a predominantly rural district. It is comprising of two constituencies of Dokolo North and Dokolo South with the main hospital being Dokolo Health Center IV situated in the middle of Dokolo Town.
Dokolo district has 11 lower local governments of Bata, Okwalongwen, Amwoma, Dokolo, Agwata, Adok, Kwera, Okwongodul, Kangai, Adeknino and Dokolo Town Council. There are 62 Parishes and 484 villages. The Town Councils of Agwata and Bata was launched but not yet operational.
